About the scientist?
I’m just your average, everyday engineer in my late 30s, with a wife and kids.
So why write this blog?
Well, one day I woke up and realized that I’d be doing the same routine, everyday, until my mid to late 60s when hopefully, I’d be financially set to be able to retire. This is definitely NOT how I envisioned my life. I always envisioned myself reaching financial freedom at a fairly young age so that I could travel or do whatever the hell I wanted to do. That clearly wasn’t going to happen with the financial path I was on, so I decided to make some changes and build my own financial experiment to see if early financial freedom is possible for a regular guy with a regular life.
I have no formal financial training. Hell, they definitely didn’t teach any of this in school, so I’m learning as I go and trying to get better. Most of the things I’ve learned about managing personal finances have been from reading books, blogs, and by financial experimentation. It has been an enlightening experience so far, and hopefully you’ll be inspired to do the same.
